Ten-week R&D internship supporting advanced materials projects involving titanium and nickel alloys. Responsibilities may include microstructural characterization, heat treatment studies, hot-working trials, forging, rolling, and materials processing research. Interns will apply materials science, engineering, or data science concepts and may use programming, statistical, imaging, CAD, or FEA tools for modeling and analysis.

Mechanical Design Engineer Intern supporting ATI’s Monroe manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include improving and automating equipment processes, reverse engineering components, enhancing workplace safety, and developing CAD-based equipment modifications. The intern will collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams on manufacturing projects involving melt and ESR equipment, automation, process improvement, and practical engineering solutions.

Operates materials through rolling mill passes to produce specified cross sections. Assists with roll changes, guide setup, alignment, furnace loading, tooling maintenance, production records, defect monitoring, incident investigations, process improvements, and safety compliance. Requires prior manufacturing experience and maintaining IME certification; high school education, measurement skills, and basic math are preferred.

Evaluate metallographic samples under a microscope to verify compliance with industry standards, record and release results, prioritize samples, troubleshoot, assist routine lab operations, and maintain a clean work area on a night shift schedule.

Operates and assists with industrial manufacturing equipment to produce forged metal billets. Responsibilities include furnace and heat-treat operations, rotary forging, crane and forklift operation, cooling bed operation, sawing, inspections, material identification, recordkeeping, equipment setup, and safety compliance. The role requires basic math and computer skills, tool use, reading instructions and tape measures, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in hot conditions and at heights.

Supports Quality, Technical, and Finance organizations as an HR Business Partner, advising leaders on employee and labor relations, collective bargaining agreements, performance management, talent processes, workforce planning, training, engagement, and process improvement. Partners with union leadership, legal counsel, payroll, safety, and other HR functions to resolve disputes, grievances, complaints, and disciplinary matters while supporting organizational strategy.

Coordinates production control activities across manufacturing, quality, laboratory, shipping, technology, planning, and sales teams. Establishes work priorities, reprocesses batches, resolves product deviations, supports on-time shipments, chairs production meetings, tracks critical orders, streamlines processes, and maintains shipment reports for management. The role requires production control experience, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and coordination within a manufacturing environment.

Manages inside sales and sales support operations, including hiring, training, coaching, workflow optimization, customer relationships, sales reporting, budgeting, cost analysis, and invoice approvals. Serves as a liaison among customers, commercial managers, and internal departments to improve productivity and customer satisfaction.
