Provide expert Apache Airflow support to customers using Astronomer’s managed service. Troubleshoot complex data engineering, Kubernetes, cloud, and distributed-system issues; optimize configurations; meet SLAs; and guide customers into production. Participate in pager and weekend on-call rotations, mentor junior teammates, contribute to Airflow or internal monitoring projects, and provide product feedback.

Build AI systems and applications for Astronomer’s data context layer, including semantic search, retrieval, data modeling, code generation, and root cause analysis. Develop LLM- and embedding-powered developer tools, solve large-scale information retrieval challenges, shape technical architecture, and translate applied research into products. Collaborate across engineering, research, and product teams while contributing to open source, technical publications, and community initiatives.

Build and maintain scalable backend services connecting Apache Airflow to enterprise cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities include improving service performance, reliability, and scalability; collaborating cross-functionally; reviewing code; documenting systems; prototyping user-experience improvements; and participating in on-call incident response. The role requires strong Python or Golang skills, Kubernetes experience, distributed-systems knowledge, testing expertise, and software delivery best practices.

Prospect and engage potential customers through calls, email, and LinkedIn; qualify inbound and outbound leads; generate sales-qualified opportunities; collaborate with sales and marketing; track outreach in CRM and automation tools; stay informed on industry trends and customer needs; and achieve pipeline, meeting, and conversion targets.

Lead architecture and implementation of production-scale distributed systems, operate Kubernetes clusters under load, write design docs and postmortems, make tradeoff decisions, and drive cross-team technology choices to improve platform scalability, reliability, and developer experience.

Deliver technical solutions and implement Astronomer products for large customers, guide Apache Airflow adoption, act as the interface between customers, sales, and product, troubleshoot distributed systems, and support cloud-native data architectures while covering EST hours and occasional travel for meetings.
