Teams at Astronomer

Provide expert Apache Airflow support to customers using Astronomer’s managed service. Troubleshoot complex data engineering, Kubernetes, cloud, and distributed-system issues; optimize configurations; meet SLAs; and guide customers into production. Collaborate with data engineers, DevOps teams, administrators, and management. Participate in pager and weekend on-call rotations, mentor junior teammates, contribute to Airflow or internal monitoring projects, and provide product feedback.

Operate and maintain cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters for Astronomer’s managed Airflow service. Troubleshoot customer environments, respond to incidents, build monitoring and alerting, automate operational tasks, improve product architecture, and provide customer-facing guidance while meeting SLAs. The role also includes documentation, customer feedback, pager coverage, and paid weekend on-call rotations.

Build AI systems and applications for Astronomer’s data context layer, including semantic search, retrieval, data modeling, code generation, and root cause analysis. Develop LLM- and embedding-powered developer tools, solve large-scale information retrieval challenges, shape technical architecture, and translate applied research into products. Collaborate across engineering, research, and product teams while contributing to open source, technical publications, and community initiatives.
