Support the Engineering Manager to run depot engineering operations, ensure DVSA and safety compliance, meet PVR and KPI targets, supervise and allocate team workloads, manage resources and costs, maintain records and reporting, drive fleet reliability improvements, and liaise with stakeholders including unions.

Perform repair and maintenance of bus bodywork to Arriva and DVSA standards, including welding, painting, accident repairs and bespoke alterations. Work to ensure vehicles are safe, roadworthy and completed on time while following company procedures and quality standards.

Maintain and coordinate regional commercial plans, lead commercial reviews and rolling forecasts, provide analytical insight to maximise EBIT, support implementation of commercial change and local market planning, and respond to ad-hoc data requests.

Perform routine servicing, inspections and MOT prep on buses; diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults; replace components; complete job cards; maintain workshop safety and minimise vehicle downtime.

Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostic fault-finding and reactive repairs on PSV fleet to DVSA and company standards. Prepare vehicles for MOT, carry out quality inspections, support fleet performance and safety, and work on a depot rota to ensure vehicles are service-ready.

Perform servicing, maintenance and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards including vehicle fault diagnostics, preventative maintenance, MOT preparation and quality checks, and attending roadside breakdowns for buses and coaches.

Support the Garage Engineering Manager in running a safe, compliant, and efficient workshop. Lead and supervise teams to maintain, repair, overhaul, and clean heavy vehicles; plan and allocate workload; ensure fleet availability meets PVR targets; maintain health & safety, quality, and environmental compliance; liaise with chargehands and capture accurate performance data.

Maintain, diagnose, and repair passenger service vehicles across North East depots. Perform routine and corrective maintenance, use diagnostic tools, follow safety procedures, and collaborate with depot teams. Support training and career development; PCV licence helpful.

Perform timely reconciliation of supplier statements, investigate and resolve discrepancies, manage invoice holds and return-to-vendor processes, liaise with internal stakeholders and suppliers, generate reconciliation reports, support aged query resolution, and ensure compliance while driving AP process improvements.

Perform servicing, maintenance and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards on PSV/HGV vehicles, including MOT preparation, planned preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, quality checks, and continuous reliability improvements.

Maintain workshop cleanliness, clean vehicles to company standards, refuel the fleet for service, keep fuelling area hazard-free, perform daily sweeping/mopping and occasional deep cleans, and follow all health, safety, and company procedures.

Supervise daily engineering operations to ensure safe, timely maintenance and fleet availability. Support workload planning, health and safety compliance, team development, documentation, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement with a pathway to Assistant Engineering Manager.

Manage incoming materials and stock control: receive and reconcile deliveries, update inventory system, create purchase orders, track discrepancies, rotate stock, arrange returns, and maintain supplier relationships to ensure correct inventory levels.

Provide operational support for payroll programs and processes, assist with payroll data entry and reconciliations, respond to payroll inquiries, maintain documentation, and support payroll system updates and project tasks with internal stakeholders.
