Leads battery engineering and technical project delivery for the EcoCAR Innovation Challenge. Coordinates sponsors, university teams, research partners, schedules, deliverables, risks, and battery module validation. Supports high-voltage battery architecture, structural integration, pack safety, thermal management, student training, and workforce programming. Applies software engineering and AI/ML to engineering workflows and program operations, while representing STEP through publications, presentations, workshops, and external partnerships.

Owns product backlogs and prioritization for software development projects. Collaborates with stakeholders, Product Managers, Business Application Owners, and Scrum teams to define user stories, acceptance criteria, roadmaps, milestones, and release plans. Develop and operate scalable AI inference solutions for scientific workflows on HPC systems and AI accelerators. Build Python REST services, integrate AI models, optimize inference performance, and support distributed workloads involving batching, scheduling, memory management, and observability. Collaborate with scientific application teams, academic and industry partners, national laboratories, and agencies to advance AI-enabled scientific computing.

Supports daily payroll transactions, including bi-weekly and monthly processing, timecard review, rate verification, data validation, employee inquiries, service requests, reporting, and records maintenance. Develop and enhance Argonne’s Python-based GREET life cycle assessment software, including architecture, data schemas, calculation engines, APIs, databases, web interfaces, and AI capabilities using LLMs. Conduct energy and environmental LCA studies, build validated data pipelines, collaborate with external researchers and sponsors, publish findings, present results, and lead projects while directing junior staff.

Supports the design, development, integration, and advancement of high-performance computing environments. Manages Linux clusters, software stacks, dependencies, programming environments, containers, compilers, build systems, and job resource managers. Develops automation and Spack package definitions, maintains CI pipelines, troubleshoots dependency conflicts, and collaborates with researchers to refine requirements and support scientific computing workflows. U.S. citizenship is required, and the role may require obtaining government access authorization.

Supports systems modeling, simulation, controls analysis, software verification and validation, and vehicle data analysis for advanced vehicle technology competitions. Develops MIL, SIL, and HIL workflows; evaluates hybrid and electric vehicle systems; processes automotive test data; and contributes to analysis tools, reporting frameworks, and technical guidance. Collaborates with industry, government, university, and supplier partners while mentoring student teams and delivering training on modeling, controls, software development, and engineering analysis.

Supports the design, development, integration, and optimization of Argonne’s high-performance computing environment. Responsibilities include managing Spack environments, compiling and validating scientific software across heterogeneous CPU and GPU architectures, debugging build issues, profiling and tuning applications, reporting defects to external developers, and documenting installation and optimization procedures. The role collaborates closely with researchers, domain scientists, application owners, and open-source communities.

Support multi-cloud, Kubernetes-based infrastructure for DOE's American Science Cloud. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate provisioning (Terraform/OpenTofu), operate managed clusters (EKS/AKS/GKE), implement DevSecOps controls, configure monitoring (Prometheus/Grafana/Nagios), manage image registries, and provide production operational support and vendor coordination.

Leads operations for Argonne’s Nuclear Technologies and National Security Directorate, advising the Associate Laboratory Director and managing strategic and tactical operational delivery. Oversees fiscal management, risk, safety, quality, IT, infrastructure, space planning, workforce planning, security, administration, and communications through operational managers and subject-matter experts.
