Provide mechanical design, hands-on build/assembly, and analysis for particle detectors and atomic-physics instrumentation. Support Barrel Imaging Calorimeter and TRACER center projects, use CAD and FEA tools, work with vacuum, laser/optical, and radiation/beam detector systems, collaborate with scientists, vendors, and lab staff, and grow toward a lead engineering role.

Lead development and deployment of advanced control and optimization algorithms for connected and automated vehicles. Design multi-resolution CAV models and scenarios, extend traffic-flow and simulation tools (RoadRunner, SUMO, POLARIS), support hardware-in-the-loop and on-road experiments, publish results, collaborate with partners, and mentor junior researchers.

Partner with the Head of Executive Communications to craft strategic messaging for Argonne’s top leaders. Produce speeches, presentations, briefings, and executive materials; prepare leaders for engagements; manage projects, stakeholders, and approvals; translate complex science into clear narratives; improve measurement and processes; and serve on the crisis response team to strengthen executive visibility and institutional priorities.
