The Policy and Research Manager develops evidence-based policy positions on qualifications, assessment, curriculum and education reform. Responsibilities include monitoring political and regulatory developments, commissioning and analyzing research, producing policy papers and consultation responses, building relationships with policymakers and sector stakeholders, translating complex evidence into recommendations, and representing AQA at forums and events. The role requires strong policy, research, stakeholder engagement, communication, analytical and project-management skills.

Coordinate face-to-face and online standardisation activities, meetings, events, and training materials for examiners and moderators. Provide customer service, resolve stakeholder queries, maintain accurate reports and operational documentation, and build relationships with internal teams, associates, schools, colleges, and suppliers. During peak periods, supervise temporary staff, support process delivery, and help meet service-level, quality, and deadline requirements.

Designs and governs enterprise technology solutions across applications, infrastructure, data, cloud, integration, and security domains. Provides architectural leadership, stakeholder consultancy, standards development, technology roadmaps, governance, compliance assurance, legacy modernization guidance, and horizon scanning. The role collaborates with enterprise technology, assessment technology, project teams, business stakeholders, and third-party providers to deliver scalable, secure, cost-effective solutions aligned with organizational strategy.

Lead qualification quality and accreditation readiness across AQA’s development programmes. Build and embed quality assurance frameworks, governance processes, audit approaches and document controls. Review and align qualification materials, identify risks, maintain audit trails, support regulatory submissions, manage feedback and recommend improvements. Work collaboratively with development, assessment, regulation and compliance teams while maintaining independent quality judgment and ensuring materials meet regulatory and internal standards.

Leads AQA’s Financial Control and FP&A teams, overseeing financial governance, internal controls, statutory accounts, group audits, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning. The role drives IFRS 15 and IFRS 16 implementation, acquisition integration, risk management, cash oversight, VAT recovery, process improvements, and subsidiary finance capability. It also requires senior stakeholder influence, business partnering, strategic recommendations, and leadership and development of a high-performing finance team.

The Data Architect will define and govern data architecture across AQA’s assessment technology landscape. Responsibilities include creating data models, dictionaries, flows and roadmaps; translating business needs into data requirements; supporting governance, security, retention and regulatory compliance; collaborating with architects, product managers and development teams; improving data processes; and mentoring colleagues. The role requires expertise in domain-level data modelling, domain-driven design, data storage technologies and microservice architectures, alongside strong stakeholder communication and architectural leadership.

Coordinates administrative, planning, compliance, payment, documentation, and stakeholder activities for AQA’s Subject Support function. Maintains accurate records, supports associate onboarding and payments, monitors regulatory checks, manages engagement calendars and CRM queries, documents and improves processes, and helps keep plans and deliverables on track. The role requires strong organisation, communication, attention to detail, financial administration, stakeholder management, and confidence using Microsoft 365 and related systems.

Supports teachers and schools delivering AQA Business, Economics and Accounting qualifications. The role provides subject guidance, answers centre queries, delivers training sessions, analyses customer and performance data, represents AQA at conferences, and builds relationships with teachers and subject stakeholders. It also contributes to curriculum and product development, collaborates with Marketing, Sales, Product and Events teams, supports customer satisfaction and market growth, and requires extensive national travel with overnight stays.

Supports schools, teachers, and education stakeholders in delivering AQA Psychology and Law qualifications. Responsibilities include answering subject queries, delivering training and presentations, analyzing customer data, representing AQA at conferences, building stakeholder relationships, supporting product and curriculum development, and collaborating with Product Management, Marketing, Sales, and Events. The role requires strong Psychology expertise, teaching credibility, communication skills, customer focus, and extensive national travel.

Leads AQA’s strategic HR function supporting approximately 1,500 employees and a 25-person People team. Responsibilities include HR business partnering, workforce planning, organisational transformation, employee and trade union relations, diversity and inclusion, pay and benefits, employee services, organisational effectiveness, and talent management. The Director advises executive and board-level stakeholders, leads HR strategy and change initiatives, oversees employment policies and compliance, and builds a high-performing, inclusive workplace aligned with organisational goals.
