The Policy and Research Manager develops evidence-based policy positions on qualifications, assessment, curriculum and education reform. Responsibilities include monitoring political and regulatory developments, commissioning and analyzing research, producing policy papers and consultation responses, building relationships with policymakers and sector stakeholders, translating complex evidence into recommendations, and representing AQA at forums and events. The role requires strong policy, research, stakeholder engagement, communication, analytical and project-management skills.

Coordinate face-to-face and online standardisation activities, meetings, events, and training materials for examiners and moderators. Provide customer service, resolve stakeholder queries, maintain accurate reports and operational documentation, and build relationships with internal teams, associates, schools, colleges, and suppliers. During peak periods, supervise temporary staff, support process delivery, and help meet service-level, quality, and deadline requirements.

Designs and governs enterprise technology solutions across applications, infrastructure, data, cloud, integration, and security domains. Provides architectural leadership, stakeholder consultancy, standards development, technology roadmaps, governance, compliance assurance, legacy modernization guidance, and horizon scanning. The role collaborates with enterprise technology, assessment technology, project teams, business stakeholders, and third-party providers to deliver scalable, secure, cost-effective solutions aligned with organizational strategy.
