Interns will complete an impactful engineering project with mentorship and collaborate with broader engineering teams in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Design and integrate electric propulsion systems for spacecraft buses, including architecture, fluidic systems, instrumentation, testing, and performance budgets. Develop qualification and acceptance plans, support environmental testing, troubleshoot manufacturing anomalies, and ensure design for manufacturability. Decompose requirements, conduct safety analyses and trade studies, manage suppliers, collaborate across engineering disciplines, and support customer relationships and business development.

Lead spacecraft launch integration and launch campaigns, serving as the technical liaison with launch providers. Manage mission requirements, interfaces, schedules, readiness reviews, transportation, pre-launch processing, testing, troubleshooting, regulatory approvals, and anomaly resolution. Own full-cycle deal execution, account strategies, win plans, pipeline development, forecasting, CRM hygiene, customer relationships, and new business bookings. Provide market feedback on product, pricing, and competitive positioning while representing the company at industry events and customer meetings. The role requires deep knowledge of satellite markets, government acquisition processes, and prime/subcontractor dynamics.

Design and implement flight software for autonomous satellite operations, ensuring reliable functionality through all mission phases. Collaborate across teams to meet requirements and test software.

Build and test satellite wiring harnesses, test racks, and FlatSat mechanical assemblies in a cleanroom environment. Responsibilities include harness fabrication, precision fastening and bonding, spacecraft assembly and integration, functional testing with electrical instruments, documentation and traceability, and adherence to aerospace, ESD, safety, and quality standards.

Write and edit RFIs, RFPs, white papers, presentations, and other proposal materials for government, commercial, and international customers. Own the proposal lifecycle, coordinate technical, pricing, and schedule inputs across cross-functional teams, maintain templates and content libraries, translate complex concepts into persuasive content, and deliver high-quality proposals under tight deadlines.

Drive Apex’s growth in US Government markets by developing pipelines, managing accounts, identifying and closing opportunities with prime contractors, and owning full-cycle deal execution. The role includes account strategy, forecasting, CRM hygiene, executive relationship development, industry event participation, and providing market feedback for product, pricing, and competitive strategy. Candidates need 5+ years of government-space business development or sales experience, quota-carrying experience, satellite-market expertise, and U.S. Person status.

Designs and develops avionics systems and electrical components for satellite platforms. Responsibilities include electrical architecture, circuit design, component selection, schematic capture, prototyping, manufacturing support, debugging, testing, vehicle integration, and technical documentation. Collaborates with software, firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams while managing schedules, improving reliability, and delivering hardware within cost and timeline goals.

Supervise full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable, including billing, collections, vendor onboarding, invoicing, reconciliations, and cash-flow monitoring. Support revenue recognition under ASC 606, month-end close, accruals, contract accounting, internal controls, audit preparation, and process automation. FP&A analyst responsible for headcount planning and modeling, partnering with Engineering/R&D leadership on planning, reporting, variance analysis, and PO/PR support. Owns budgeting, reforecasts, long-range planning, monthly/quarterly reporting, and process improvements to scale FP&A workflows.

Designs and implements cybersecurity architecture across corporate and development environments. Translates NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2 requirements into technical controls, supports ATO activities, and partners with infrastructure teams on Palo Alto architecture, segmentation, remote access, and network rules. Defines CUI boundaries, data flows, and security diagrams while addressing gaps across cloud, SaaS, endpoints, networks, servers, and software services.

Owns purchasing and sourcing of direct spacecraft materials, including supplier strategy, negotiations, contracts, spend management, cost reduction, and material flow. The role manages supplier relationships, logistics, inventory, delivery performance, and continuous improvement while partnering with production, engineering, program management, and leadership. It requires strong analytical, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills, plus willingness to travel for site visits and customer engagements.

Ensures spacecraft hardware quality across design, manufacturing, testing, and delivery. Leads QMS documentation, inspections, validation, audits, quality metrics, risk management, supplier performance, CAPA, and RCCA initiatives. Partners with engineering, manufacturing, testing, supply chain, and leadership teams to resolve quality issues, improve processes, and maintain compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and applicable space industry standards.
