Leads nursing care during assigned shifts by directing nurse aides, administering medications and treatments, implementing care plans, transcribing physician orders, documenting resident care, completing assessments, and participating in shift reports. Educates support staff, maintains infection-control and safety standards, responds to emergencies, and coordinates replacement staffing when shortages occur.
