The Safety Coordinator conducts inspections across construction and utility sites, monitors OSHA and company compliance, investigates incidents, coordinates safety training and certifications, enforces permits and stop-work procedures, and supports traffic control, excavation safety, and loss prevention. The role prepares inspection and incident reports, coordinates workers’ compensation reporting, tests safety equipment, participates in project meetings, and recommends corrective actions. Bilingual English/Spanish communication, field independence, site travel, and construction safety experience are required.

Operate skid steer loaders for site preparation, rough and finish grading, material handling, and subgrade shaping for sidewalks, concrete, asphalt, and landscaping. Read plans, grade stakes, and survey controls; perform equipment inspections and basic maintenance; coordinate with foremen, surveyors, and construction crews; maintain safe, clean jobsites; and assist with labor tasks as needed. Work occurs outdoors on active construction projects and may include overtime, weekends, and travel.

Operate excavator to dig trenches, load and move materials, clear and level ground. Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance, operate other heavy machinery (roller, loader, skidsteer) as needed, follow safety procedures, communicate with crew, and identify/address hazards on site.

Operate a grader to install and grade rock and fill to precise finish for asphalt or concrete. Coordinate with superintendent and survey teams, manage water truck and material deliveries, perform base/subgrade inspections, ensure proper densities and binding, protect structures, and set up/use GPS machine-control equipment.

Install, align, and secure utility piping and structures in varied soils and depths. Work with excavator operators to set trench elevations, slope and connect pipe, compact bedding, check installations with laser/lamping, and perform mud work and shoveling to ensure leak-free, stable systems.

Lead and manage a survey crew to perform field layout and as-builts, collect and record accurate survey data using Topcon and GPS equipment, coordinate daily with superintendents, maintain equipment and safety compliance, train crew members, and manage assigned vehicle and tools.

Operate excavator and other heavy equipment (roller, loader, skidsteer) to dig, load, move, and level materials; perform routine maintenance checks; follow safety protocols; assist with site clearing and communicate with crew. Travel within Palm Beach to Indian River County service radius required.

Install, set, and secure utility piping and structures across varying soils and depths. Coordinate with excavator operators, verify existing utilities, set pipe slope and lasers, compact and restrain pipe bedding, check for leaks, and set structures to correct elevations. Perform shoveling, mud work, and routine laser checks. Must travel within a service radius from Palm Beach County to Indian River County.
