Responsibilities include implementing observability with OpenTelemetry, establishing SLOs, owning incident response processes, mentoring teams on secure and reliable coding practices, and applying automated testing. The role collaborates with engineering leadership and cross-functional partners on shared infrastructure, performance, and distributed-systems challenges. This is a hybrid position requiring at least three office days per week in Los Angeles or San Francisco.

Monitor and support multi-asset trading across equities, options, fixed income, and credit risk. Resolve trade breaks, corrections, settlement exceptions, and advisor inquiries while maintaining regulatory compliance and audit documentation. Execute margin-related liquidations and trading restrictions, coordinate with clearing teams, and support Product and Engineering testing. Identify automation opportunities and improve desk processes, with potential growth into a Trading Manager role.

Own platform reliability, performance, observability, and resilience for scalable backend systems. Mentor engineering teams on secure, performant coding practices; establish OpenTelemetry observability and service-level objectives; design and improve incident response processes; and implement automated testing. Collaborate with engineering leaders, product managers, and cross-functional teams on shared infrastructure and challenging technical solutions. The role also contributes to cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, tabletop exercises, and modern distributed systems across the organization.

Own performance, resilience, observability, and incident response for scalable backend systems across product teams. Mentor engineers on secure, reliable coding practices; implement OpenTelemetry, logging, SLOs, and automated testing; and contribute shared infrastructure solutions. The role requires expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, SQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm, with AWS, CI/CD, infrastructure tooling, and financial services experience preferred.
