Analyzes medical records and abstracts clinical, pathological, therapeutic, and epidemiologic oncology data. Assigns coding and staging classifications, identifies reportable cases, maintains cancer registry records, documents treatment follow-up, supports oncology case conferences, and ensures compliance with CoC and NYSCR standards. Requires ongoing professional development to maintain the Oncology Data Specialist credential.

Supports compensation systems, pay equity, job grading, market analysis, and candidate rate calculations. Provides HRIS production support, troubleshoots system issues, maintains data integrity, assists with upgrades and testing, and develops reports and queries. Advises HR staff and hospital management, coordinates process improvements, documents procedures, and supports change management. Requires strong technology, communication, confidentiality, organization, customer service, and basic project management skills.

Supports hospital laboratory operations through customer service, phlebotomy, specimen processing, and patient data entry. Responsibilities include answering calls, assisting patients, drawing blood, preparing blood, urine, and tissue samples, looking up lab results, and entering patient information into the laboratory computer system. On-the-job training is provided, with opportunities to advance through Levels I, II, and III.
