Leads a 24/7 operating room department, overseeing surgical nursing staff, staffing, budgets, quality improvement, patient safety, regulatory compliance, performance management, professional development, and operational planning. The Nurse Manager coordinates schedules, evaluates staff, implements policies and action plans, supports shared governance, and maintains clinical standards across 16 operating suites.

Supports hospital laboratory operations through patient service, phone and result inquiries, phlebotomy, specimen processing, and data entry. The role may include training in one or more areas and requires accurate handling of patient information and biological samples. No medical experience is required, as on-the-job training is provided. The position serves as an entry point for healthcare careers and emphasizes patient communication, computer use, attention to detail, and comfort working with blood.

Analyzes medical records and abstracts clinical, pathological, therapeutic, and epidemiologic oncology data. Assigns coding and staging classifications, identifies reportable cases, maintains cancer registry records, documents treatment follow-up, supports oncology case conferences, and ensures compliance with CoC and NYSCR standards. Requires ongoing professional development to maintain the Oncology Data Specialist credential.
