Supports state energy commissioners through education, briefings, forums, and engagement strategies focused on advanced energy, affordability, grid reliability, and access. Builds stakeholder relationships, researches energy policy and regulatory frameworks, manages education initiatives and project systems, supports industry conferences, and prepares program reports and metrics. The role requires strong policy knowledge, communication, relationship-building, project management, and public speaking skills, with travel up to 10%.

The Policy Principal will lead political strategy and stakeholder engagement across a portfolio of Midwest states. Responsibilities include building relationships with policymakers, regulators, advocacy groups, coalitions, and industry experts; developing state-specific communication strategies; representing United before decision-makers; managing campaigns and projects; organizing program knowledge; and reporting progress and metrics. The role requires strong relationship-building, communication, project management, political judgment, and comfort navigating ambiguity in a fully remote environment.

Leads Advanced Energy United’s legislative and political engagement in New York. Develops clean energy policy strategies, builds relationships with decision-makers and coalition partners, coordinates member advocacy, manages lobbyists and consultants, and produces advocacy materials. The role also supports communications, media engagement, testimony, presentations, and regional strategy across the Northeast. This is a fully remote position requiring residence in or around Albany, New York, with travel up to 30%.
