Conduct R&D on optical transmission systems and subsystems, develop monitoring and control methods for optical components, perform hardware emulation and physical-layer characterization, lead internal subprojects, and collaborate with national and international partners to transition advanced optical technologies into products.

Lead research and development of machine-learning-driven network control and system design for next-generation optical networks. Develop models, implement and benchmark algorithms on real network data, integrate solutions into network management, lead subprojects, cooperate with partners, and evaluate third-party supplier solutions.

Design, simulate, verify, and support manufacturing of pluggable optical transceiver modules. Develop specifications, perform lab testing and reliability validation (Telcordia GR-468), define production test strategies, support NPI and volume manufacturing, collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers, and produce technical documentation.
