Owns the lifecycle technical performance, configuration, documentation, maintenance support, and safety of assigned mechanical nuclear systems, including the Critical Assembly Vessel and Reactivity Control System. Supports video production for social media, web, and recruiting by editing short- and long-form content, creating platform-specific cuts, assisting with camera, lighting, and audio setup, capturing and organizing B-roll, maintaining footage libraries, and taking projects from concept through final delivery. The intern collaborates with stakeholders, incorporates feedback, and meets publishing deadlines.

Support the marketing and communications team by creating and scheduling social media content, designing graphics, developing messaging, writing and proofreading copy, maintaining content libraries and calendars, conducting industry research, reporting on campaigns, and analyzing content performance. Manage Aalo’s controlled documents and quality records, including document routing, approvals, revisions, retention, archival, metadata, and retrieval. Own NQA-1-aligned document control and records programs, support audits and configuration control, and provide technical editing, templates, standards, training, and cross-functional documentation support. Partner with quality, engineering, licensing, manufacturing, operations, and customer teams to maintain accurate, traceable, consistent, and audit-ready documentation.

Create and maintain precise 2D and 3D mechanical CAD drawings using Siemens NX, applying ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards. Assist with mechanical system design, analysis, simulation, prototyping, and testing for nuclear energy applications. Prepare technical documentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system safety, performance, and efficiency. The role requires an engineering student or recent graduate with knowledge of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, materials science, CAD, and simulation tools. This is an on-site internship in Idaho Falls, Idaho, from January through May 2027.

Create video content documenting Aalo Atomics’ factory, hardware, engineering milestones, people, and events. Own productions from concept through final edit, including social videos, documentaries, launch films, recruiting content, and event coverage. Collaborate with brand and marketing teams while managing production logistics, equipment, footage libraries, and post-production workflows. The role is onsite in Austin and includes travel for shoots when needed.

Designs, builds, tests, and commissions mechanical components, mechanisms, assemblies, tooling, and reactor-support hardware. Own build-induced reliability risks for nuclear reactor hardware across design release, fabrication, assembly, inspection, testing, and production ramp-up. Develop quality plans, PFMEAs, work instructions, inspection strategies, and process controls; review designs for manufacturability and testability; analyze production data; investigate failures and nonconformances; and implement corrective actions. Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and production teams in a hands-on factory environment while maintaining traceable records and supporting regulated nuclear-quality requirements.
