The retail giant is bringing a new tech hub to Atlanta for Walmart Global Tech. The company is advancing Walmart’s digital capabilities in areas like artificial intelligence, augmented reality and computer vision. It’s providing customers with tools like its AI-based feature that lets online shoppers try on clothes before they make a purchase. Walmart plans to fill 5,000 tech jobs this year across Atlanta and Toronto. Its first phase of Atlanta hiring will include 140 full-time associate roles in areas like data science and software engineering.

 

Activewear brand Nike announced in April that it’s building out its tech talent base with a new office in West Midtown. The facility will consist of three centers spanning logistics and supply chain, cybersecurity and AI and machine learning. With these newly-launched resources, Nike will be able to focus on its digital-first supply chain strategy and establish an East Coast cybersecurity command center. The efforts will also help further its customer experiences with automation capabilities.

 

California defense tech company Anduril is adding jobs in Fulton County, according to a July release. The company is developing a new manufacturing and research facility in Atlanta that will create 180 new jobs over the next three years. The facility will house Area-I, which manufactures uncrewed aircraft systems. Area-I is hiring across a variety of engineering disciplines, including aerospace, mechanical, software, electrical and systems backgrounds for research and development.

 

This French recruitment agency is bringing its AI-powered staffing platform to Atlanta. The company works to connect logistics and supply chain businesses with talent looking for temporary positions. Gojob, which has filled more ​​than 29,000 jobs across 900 enterprises, responded to high demand for its services in the Atlanta region by announcing a new tech hub in the city. It’s working to develop its AI Lab product that will help match job offers to talent quickly and accurately.

 

Seattle-based Outreach is the developer of an artificial intelligence- and machine learning-powered platform to help organizations achieve efficient and predictable revenue growth. This sales execution technology solution serves more than 5,300 companies. Outreach is opening an Atlanta office to tap the diverse tech talent and culture of the city. With the new office built around inclusivity, the company is hiring across all departments to build a team that’s entirely local to the greater Atlanta area.

 

Global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company has been local to Atlanta for 44 years. Recently, it announced plans to deepen this presence with a new technology and innovation hub. The firm will grow its headcount of 800 people to 1,500 by the year 2025. McKinsey is building out its team with members of Atlanta’s diverse talent base. The new tech hub will house both its Client Capabilities Network and its tech ecosystem.

 

Native to Arizona, logistics company Emerge is expanding into the Southeast with an office in the Atlanta area. Its digital solution works to help companies simplify their freight procurement processes. With offices in Scottsdale and Boulder, Colorado, Emerge is expanding its coverage to better serve its growing customer base. Its new Atlanta office will seat 160 employees across sales, customer service, carrier enablement and other operational roles.
