Companies are always on the lookout for ways they can make their business run smoother, particularly when it comes to their supply chains. An Arizona-based logistics company built a solution to help companies simplify their freight procurement processes. Now, Emerge is expanding its presence to Atlanta, also known as Supply Chain City.

Emerge’s solutions work to enhance the procurement process and allow shippers and carriers to make more strategic decisions. In addition to its digital procurement platform, the company offers tools for streamlining bid completion processes and a marketplace that enables real-time transactions between shippers and carriers.

Since its founding in 2017, the company has experienced rapid growth. Emerge saw its platform grow 700 percent year-over-year from 2020 to 2021. The company also secured $150 million in venture funding, the most recent round having been its $130 million Series B back in September 2021.

With office locations in its headquarters city of Scottsdale as well as in Boulder, Colorado, Emerge is expanding its coverage to better serve its growing and diversified customer base, according to the company. The Atlanta office will seat 160 employees across sales, customer service, carrier enablement and other operational roles.

“Opening an Atlanta-area office is an exciting next step in Emerge’s rapid expansion and growth. We will bring the Scottsdale Emerge culture and focus on shipper and carrier experience to this new office, located in the heart of the intersection of freight and technology,” Cameron Ramsdell, Emerge’s COO, said in a statement. “This expansion positions our company well for continued growth and demonstrates our commitment to enhancing the shipper and carrier experience within the Emerge marketplace as we expand our 24/7 support offering.”

In addition to expanding this solution, the company recently launched Emerge Benchmarking to further its request for proposal tool. The feature aggregates freight industry data to provide intelligence that enables better decision-making. To date, more than 1,000 shippers rely on Emerge’s freight procurement platform alongside over 45,000 marketplace carriers.
