Open Source Co-Working is downtown Austin’s newest co-working space. Their goal is to ensure productivity, efficiency and focus for all members. Those who have experienced the development and “noise” of the tech scene surrounding Congress Avenue will be pleased to visit an inclusive space, designed with concentration and tranquility in mind. It was founded on the principle that the best creations achieve the most utility by opening their development to the public.
Luke Filipos and Chris Sica, co-founders of the extremely successful Austin Coding Academy, realized that they wanted to expand their presence by creating a space that allows for both expansion of their current business and a successful entrance into a new one. According to Luke, “Our hope is to build a community whose network includes all of the human capital necessary to build any technology. While everyone is certainly welcome, we do place a preference on those who are working directly in the tech development industry, such as programmers and designers.”
The walls are adorned with live air plants and the space boasts artwork and interior design by local creative, Luis Angulo. In addition to private offices and shared space, an Open Source membership also features a list of amenities that includes a quiet room (strict rules when headphones are in!), a phone room, conference space, high speed internet, access to subject matter expertise, plus free use of peripherals and accessories to test and take technologies to a new level.
With a location so close to the action, members can easily join entrepreneurial meetups, happy hours and events to help grow their businesses. Open Source will also plan to serve as a host location during key activities related to Austin Startup Week, SXSW, Startup Crawl and more, while maintaining their unique atmosphere and tech-driven mission.
Open Source has set tours on Thursdays at 11 AM for those interested in learning more about the model, speaking with the founders and joining the community.

About Open Source Co-Working:
Open Source was founded on the idea that the best projects and technologies are those open to the community, and the best developers and designers are the ones who contribute openly. The company was designed to be a place where members would have access to all of the best resources -- fiber internet; onsite technical, legal, and business expertise; downtown location - without the distractions that come with being in the center of Austin's tech scene. At Open Source, members will find a comfortable, focused and productive space, full of life and flowing with opportunity.
