Financial Operations Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Financial Operations Analyst to join our team and drive financial efficiency and optimization across our organization. You will play a critical role in overseeing the financial aspects of our cloud platform usage by analyzing costs, optimizing spending, and implementing strategies to ensure efficient resource allocation. Your responsibilities will include conducting in-depth analysis of cloud usage and costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and optimization, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective financial strategies. This role requires a strong understanding of both finance and cloud infrastructure technologies, as you will collaborate with various teams to drive financial efficiency and support business objectives. Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of platform-related cloud infrastructure costs, including usage patterns, resource allocation, and pricing models.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize spending and improve cost efficiency across our cloud platform services, while ensuring performance and reliability standards are met.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and procurement, to develop and implement cost-saving initiatives and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support budget planning, resource allocation, and strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to platform financial operations, providing regular reports and actionable insights to management.
  • Engage with cloud service providers and vendors to negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and service-level agreements (SLAs) to achieve optimal financial outcomes.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in cloud technology, leveraging insights to continuously improve platform financial operations.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams on financial matters related to platform usage, cost management, and optimization strategies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls specific to platform financial operations.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management to drive continuous improvement and innovation in platform financial operations.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • 4-7 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in a technology or cloud computing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with platform-related cloud infrastructure services, such as compute, storage, databases, and networking.
  • Familiarity with platform-specific cost management tools and techniques, including cost allocation tagging, budget alerts, and reservation planning.
  • Experience with financial analysis and reporting in a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) or infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to navigate evolving business needs and priorities.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $79,150 -- $120,000 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
