Spotify is looking for a Data Engineer to join Native Ads team in our Music Promotion Engineering organization, within the Music Mission. In Music Promotion, we build consumer and industry-facing products which provide creators new avenues for promoting their work, reaching new audiences, and deepening their connections with fans. As a Data Engineer on this team, you will tackle complex data problems surrounding forecasting campaign budgets, targeting optimization, and observability into campaign delivery systems with the goal to improve overall supply and campaign performance. You will build data-driven solutions to bring promotional music experiences to our 350+ million active users on behalf of millions of artists, using a diverse range of datasets including user behaviors, contextual data, and other signals across our broad range of mobile and connected platforms. Above all, your work will impact the way the world experiences music and the way creators connect to their fans!

What You'll Do

  • Build large-scale data pipelines that power machine learning models with data processing frameworks like Scio and the Google Cloud Platform
  • Work closely with our partner teams to build data pipelines, monitoring and alerting tools that provide insights into our campaign delivery systems and merge of the gap between our forecasts and campaign performance
  • Opportunities to T-shape into backend systems, machine learning and data analysis
  • Work in cross functional agile teams to continuously experiment, iterate and deliver on new product objectives.

  • You have professional experience working in a product-driven environment
  • You deeply value collaborations within and across teams to achieve the best outcome for the organization
  • You put business impact forward and understand the tradeoff between a technical complex solution vs. a simpler solution that meets different stages of product requirements
  • You are open minded about changes, and embrace them with optimistic mindset
  • You have good knowledge of Scala and Java, you know how to build data pipelines with a high volume of data, and you care about engineering best practices and the quality of the datasets you deliver
  • Bonus if you have or are interested in learning backend or data analysis skills

Where You'll Be

  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! For this role, you can be within the Eastern time zone as long as we have a work location.

The United States base range for this position is $122,716.00- 175,308.00 plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
