As the late, great Ben Parker once said, “With great power, comes great responsibility.” It’s an admittedly overused quote but it is the most appropriate way to describe LA’s newest app, Lenny. Launched as an invitation-only app earlier this week, Lenny is a peer-to-peer payment app with a huge twist — they issue loans.

It’s only been available for one day, but Activision has already sold more than $500 million of first-person shooter game Destiny. Based on those sales, the Santa Monica-based gaming studio claimed Destiny’s launch to be the biggest in history. Destiny launched at over 11,000 midnight openings worldwide on September 9th.
