The Senior Backend Engineer will develop, test, and maintain scalable integrations, support cross-functional teams, and enhance developer experiences.

Develop and test COBOL, Natural, and JCL applications to implement four NASWA SIDES exchanges. Support all SDLC phases: requirements analysis, coding, DB2 integration, CICS UI and batch job modifications, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation across legacy mainframe systems.

Build, customize, and maintain WordPress and Shopify websites; develop and automate CRM builds in HubSpot/HighLevel; integrate sites with CRMs and marketing tools; optimize for performance, SEO, and conversions; manage end-to-end technical implementations and troubleshoot issues while collaborating with marketing and sales teams.

Own end-to-end growth features across the stack (TypeScript/Node.js backend, React frontend) to drive acquisition, conversion, retention and monetisation. Design architecture, run A/B experiments, instrument metrics, use AI-assisted tools in engineering workflows, mentor juniors, and iterate rapidly with PMs and designers.

Design, build, and maintain backend services, data processing, REST APIs, and Electron-based thick client desktop applications. Ensure secure, scalable client-server architectures, process structured data at scale, support containerized development and automated build pipelines, collaborate with designers, and mentor junior engineers while following Agile best practices.

Expand and maintain Hudl's front-end platform to accelerate product teams: design and implement scalable, performant, accessible front-ends and tooling (Vite, Next.js), consult and review front-end work, support adoption of design systems, and mentor teams to improve developer experience.

Serve as liaison between business and developers to analyze systems, document technical and functional requirements, configure non-code system changes, develop integrations and data mappings, perform SQL-based troubleshooting, create test plans, execute functional/regression testing, and support deployments while ensuring compliance and stakeholder communication.

Work on the Web Platform team to design, build, and scale a new content management system. Contribute to front- and backend services, participate in Agile sprints, make technical decisions, mentor teammates, and help migrate and improve content delivery and cloud infrastructure.

Lead design and delivery of the public-facing API platform and ingestion services. Build scalable, reliable real-time distributed systems, collaborate with product and data teams, review designs and code, address technical debt, take operational ownership using observability tools, and mentor engineers.

Own implementation and polish of player-facing UI across platforms: translate wireframes to data-driven widgets, implement responsive animations and interactive behavior, optimize and debug UMG/Blueprints for performance, advise on architecture and workflow, and improve UI pipelines while collaborating with design, art, and engineering.
