Advises Product, Engineering, Research, and Safety teams, partnering with Legal and Global Affairs to assess implications, define acceptance criteria, manage uncertainty, track dependencies, and refine recommendations throughout product development and deployment.

Lead data compliance for global physical labor collection. Draft and maintain consent, contractor, privacy, retention, deletion, and cross-border transfer documents; embed privacy-by-design controls into operational and software workflows; assess legal requirements across the US, China, and new countries; address trade and data-movement issues; and ensure field operations match documented compliance requirements.

Advise on privacy law and data protection, review vendor contracts and DPAs, support third-party data sharing and transfer risk assessments, develop privacy review processes and playbooks, counsel business partners on privacy issues, monitor U.S. and international regulations, and assist with data governance guidelines and training.

Manage contract review, drafting, negotiation, compliance, legal risk mitigation, corporate filings, investor diligence documentation, and employment-related legal matters. The role partners with in-house counsel, HR, leadership, internal teams, and external counsel to improve legal processes, maintain organized records, ensure regulatory compliance, and support geothermal project agreements, including land deals.

Supports commercial contract review, drafting, negotiation, risk analysis, legal research, and contract lifecycle management. Coordinates approvals, signatures, records, deadlines, and corporate documentation while assisting with employment, compliance, privacy, and other legal matters. Partners with legal and business stakeholders, uses AI-enabled tools responsibly, and progressively assumes more complex in-house legal responsibilities.

Build and lead DeployCo’s legal function across commercial, corporate, employment, and regulatory matters. Negotiate enterprise agreements, establish governance and compliance frameworks, support financing and M&A, manage OpenAI intercompany arrangements and outside counsel, improve contracting processes, and advise executives on legal risk and strategic decisions while enabling rapid growth.

Advise startups and growth companies on corporate matters, including entity formation, governance, compliance, venture financings, IP strategy, and commercial agreements. Draft and negotiate legal documents, support multi-jurisdictional compliance, and help build AI-enhanced legal workflows, firm processes, culture, and client service standards. Contribute to thought leadership and business development while working closely with the founding attorney.

Supports the federal Victim-Witness Program by coordinating fact witness appearances, travel, lodging, court attendance, reimbursements, records, databases, schedules, correspondence, and vouchers. Communicates with witnesses, AUSAs, courts, probation, U.S. Marshals, investigative agencies, and other government partners. Maintains files and tracking systems, prepares documentation and reports, responds to inquiries, and ensures activities comply with DOJ and USAO procedures.

Lead Thinking Machines’ global public policy strategy and build its policy team. Set positions on frontier AI legislation, safety, disclosure, open-weight models, export controls, and national security. Represent the company before legislators, regulators, and industry groups; manage counsel and coalition relationships; and establish internal policy infrastructure supporting research, product, safety, legal, and executive decision-making across U.S., EU, and international jurisdictions.

Lead Accordanceprivacy function: update DPAs and Privacy Policy, negotiate privacy and commercial terms, advise product and engineering on EU launch, conduct vendor impact assessments, deliver privacy training, and support incident investigations.
