Build and operate GitLab’s Gitaly backend storage tier, focusing on distributed storage, Git repository management, scalability, performance, reliability, observability, and high availability. Build and maintain the TypeScript-based Duo Client SDK, including Node.js core packages, public APIs, browser-compatible modules, Vue 3 client components, and platform adapters. Responsibilities include migrating consumers from the GitLab Language Server, managing versioning and deprecation paths, strengthening credential security, optimizing browser performance, writing tests, conducting code reviews, and participating in on-call support.

Lead customer migrations from self-managed GitLab to GitLab Dedicated using GitLab Geo. Plan replication, cutovers, network connectivity, and post-migration validation while debugging synchronization issues. Build repeatable automation, runbooks, and infrastructure validation using Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms. Manage multiple customer engagements, advise stakeholders, communicate technical plans, and collaborate with Professional Services, Product, and Engineering teams.

Design GraphQL and REST APIs, improve automated testing, optimize PostgreSQL-backed applications, and collaborate across backend, frontend, product, UX, and AI teams. Participate in Tier 2 on-call support, troubleshoot production issues, improve observability, and contribute to responsible AI integration in GitLab’s remote, asynchronous environment.

Lead GitLab’s Build team and roadmap, overseeing systems that convert source code into secure, verified, distributable artifacts. Own build platforms, dependency management, CI templates, supply-chain security, build consistency, observability, and self-service onboarding across delivery targets including Omnibus and CNG. Partner across teams to improve reliability, reduce coordination overhead, and support four-nines service objectives. Manage a distributed, high-performing engineering team and guide architecture, technical strategy, operational excellence, and complex project delivery.

Provide senior-level technical support for complex GitLab customer issues across self-managed and SaaS environments. Troubleshoot Linux systems, logs, infrastructure, and Ruby on Rails code; reproduce bugs and contribute fixes. Mentor teammates, improve documentation and support processes, collaborate cross-functionally on product improvements, participate in on-call rotations, and support hiring activities.
