Plans and executes hardware validation, qualification, reliability, and regulatory compliance testing for new and existing products. Develops test strategies, plans, procedures, fixtures, and documentation; analyzes results; troubleshoots failures; and drives corrective actions. The engineer collaborates with design, quality, manufacturing, project management, and certification teams, supports UL and other agency certifications, develops test automation, improves laboratory capabilities, and mentors test technicians and associate engineers.

Leads the design and execution of complex mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and specialty systems for institutional and healthcare facilities. Oversees design quality, construction documents, specifications, construction administration, project timelines, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. Drives LEED certification, energy modeling, lifecycle cost analysis, and sustainable design compliance with federal regulations and applicable codes. Requires a mechanical engineering degree, professional engineering license, extensive MEP design experience, LEED certification, and proficiency with Revit, HAP, TRACE 3D Plus, and Bluebeam.

Designs and optimizes active and passive silicon photonic components, especially Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers, through simulation, layout, tapeout, fabrication, and characterization. Performs electromagnetic, thermal, and multiphysics modeling; analyzes wafer-level data; develops robust III-V/Si integrated designs; and collaborates with system designers, layout engineers, and foundry partners to improve manufacturability and performance.

Develop and maintain high-quality, extensible scientific software using modern C++. Collaborate with software engineers and domain experts on computer vision, physics and atmospheric modeling, high-performance computing, space domain awareness, and machine learning applications. Work may involve cross-platform development, graphics, user interfaces, simulation, and scientific computing. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, undergo a background investigation, and be able to work at government or customer sites in Northern Virginia.

Build and evolve ngrok’s AI Gateway, including real-time AI traffic handling, policy enforcement, rate limits, usage caps, access rules, token tracking, observability, and explainability. Design customer-focused gateway abstractions and collaborate with Gateway, Customer Data, Platform, product, and design teams to align enforcement, usage, and billing signals. The role involves full-stack development using primarily Go and TypeScript in a production AWS, Kubernetes, and distributed-systems environment.

Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of secure, scalable multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure. Own infrastructure as code, CI/CD, containerization, observability, automation, reliability, incident response, and security practices. Partner with engineering leadership to shape architecture, operational standards, and technical strategy while improving developer workflows and system resilience.

Leads ground-test engineering and technician teams while owning test strategy, facility infrastructure, safety, data quality, budgets, schedules, and customer deliverables. Oversees propulsion testing across performance, acoustics, structural dynamics, durability, environmental, and electrical systems. Develops instrumentation, data acquisition, automation, calibration, reporting, and quality processes, personally driving campaigns for NASA, DoD, and commercial customers.

Develop and maintain C++ swarm software for ground stations and autonomous drones, build Python web services, create swarming algorithms, extend communication protocols, and improve software architecture and development processes. The role involves real-world, safety-critical autonomy systems, independent work, field testing, and operational responsibility across commercial and defense applications.

Evaluates, develops, and improves manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, quality methods, and production efficiency. Maintains manufacturing records, bills of material, work instructions, and test documentation. Supports assembly-floor troubleshooting, costing, continuous improvement, equipment maintenance coordination, and program managers. Provides technical guidance to manufacturing technicians while applying lean manufacturing, design-for-manufacturing, CAD, and electro-mechanical assembly knowledge.

Supervises IT infrastructure staff and operations, including servers, networks, cloud, SaaS, telecommunications, backups, security, and support systems. Develops infrastructure strategies, standards, policies, and capacity plans; manages vendors, projects, assets, and change processes; monitors system performance; provides advanced technical support; and ensures reliable service delivery.
