Leads technical direction for Remitly’s Security & Privacy organization while remaining hands-on in software and security engineering. Designs and ships agentic security platforms, automations, and controls across application, infrastructure, identity, privacy, governance, and risk domains. Advises executives and engineering leaders, advances secure design, balances security with business velocity, and mentors engineers. Requires deep expertise in application security, AI development, cloud security, IAM, cryptography, and production-scale software engineering.

Build and own detection tooling and logging/alerting systems, create and tune analytics for threat detection, investigate and triage incidents (on-call), drive incident response across teams, and help define and execute detection and response strategy with a detection-as-code mindset.

Lead establishment and management of the IT SOX program: scope, assess IT general and application controls, coordinate audits, track remediation, advise IT/Finance/Engineering on risks and control design, and support executive reporting.

Senior individual-contributor on Detection & Response leading detection engineering, incident response, architecture for logging/alerting, mentoring, designing AI-assisted workflows, and driving multi-year security roadmaps to reduce risk.
