Responsibilities

• Assist in conceptualization, writing, editng and publication of flagship daily sports newsletter

• Work with sales and marketing teams on newsletter monetization efforts

• Leverage design/creative teams to create sports data visualizations and additional graphic treatments to enhance newsletter

• Conduct interviews with sports figures for potential newsletter content

• Attend occasional content programming and brainstorm meetings to identify potential stories for programming

• Collaborate with tentpoles team on content plan for big events, including playoffs, drafts, free agency, Olympics, World Cup 

• Pitch story and content ideas to sport-specific editors (NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB, college football, Olympic sports

• Write/report occasional stories for on/offsite distribution

Skills

• At least four years experience in digital sports media/journalism

• At least three years experience conceptualizing and producing daily newsletter

• Strong writing skills, grammar, communication skills and an understanding of the “tone” of the internet

• Deep knowledge of major professional, college and Fantasy sports

• Keen eye for spotting emerging trends and storylines

• Strong news sense and AP style knowledge required

• Ability to cross-collaborate and work well in a team setting

• Sharp instinct for writing engaging SEO- and social-friendly headlines

The compensation for this position ranges from $72,750.00 - $151,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
