This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, patient-focused professional who is comfortable balancing hands-on clinical work with the technical demands of operating X-ray equipment and maintaining accurate medical records.

  • Verify patient identity and exam details, position patients correctly, and adjust equipment settings to obtain optimal images
  • Apply and monitor appropriate radiation safety measures for patients, self, and staff, including proper use of shielding and adherence to ALARA principles
  • Assist providers with basic clinical procedures within scope of practice, such as vital sign measurement, EKGs, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing
  • Complete patient intake and rooming, including medical history, medication review, allergies, and chief complaint documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Ensure all images are properly labeled, processed, and transmitted to the PACS or radiology system for interpretation in a timely manner
  • Maintain exam rooms, X-ray suites, and equipment in a clean, safe, and organized condition, including daily checks and minor troubleshooting
  • Manage patient flow by coordinating exam schedules, communicating wait times, and collaborating with front office and clinical teams
  • Follow all infection prevention and control protocols, including cleaning, disinfection, and proper handling of equipment and supplies
  • Assist with administrative duties such as documentation, order entry, scanning, faxing, and responding to patient and provider inquiries as directed
  • Participate in ongoing training, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental meetings to support best practices and regulatory compliance
  • Recognize and promptly report any unusual patient findings, equipment issues, or safety concerns to the appropriate clinical or technical staff
