Inside the Role
The Vehicle Control & Upfit team is responsible for the development and integration of Body controller ECUs and Body Builder/ TEM Interface ECUs. These components interact with many features in the vehicle from Ignition and power management, safety interlocks, lightning, and switches to drivetrain and Vocational topics. We work daily in a global team with MBT, FUSO, Daimler Buses and other Daimler Truck business units. We are looking for an experienced engineer to fill the role of XMC Component Owner.Posting Information

What You Drive at DTNA
- Lead the technical development of XMC;
- Align project timelines, feature implementation, system design, validation and issue resolving with our Global team;
- Act as primary contact with supplier for the XMC platform;
- Act as primary contact for XMC development to DTNA projects, validation engineering and Product Strategy;
- Lead integration of XMC into DTNA vehicle platforms by working closely with Integration & Coordination team;
- Work with DTNA TEM Engineering Teams to create technical concepts and solutions for vocational market use cases;
- Support resolution of manufacturing and field issues;
- Develop and maintain technical roadmap for hardware and software changes in XMC platform;
- Specify, develop, and validate certain SW components, using the established Model-Based SW development process.;
- Mentor junior engineers in the team by delegating technical asks and guide them through the resolution.
Knowledge You Should Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, software engineering, or related field and prefer 5+ years of related experience in automotive ECU Hardware & Software development
- Experience with identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems
- Working knowledge of CAN databus, embedded controllers is required
- Experience in using Vector tolls (CANalyzer, CANoe) for troubleshooting
- Experience in model-based SW development tools and methods, and with AUTOSAR ECUs
- Experience in developing and analyzing electrical circuits
- Excellent communication skills to interact with suppliers, customers and market councils
- Leading and mentoring others in problems resolutions.
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
- Over 3 years of experience in the role of ECU component owner
- Functional safety ISO26262
- Cybersecurity development experience
