The Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS), Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems (SI&WS) has an exciting opportunity for an innovative, highly motivated, people focused, and growth motivated Mid-Level Product Review Engineer to join our Experimental Systems Group (ESG). ESG supports a variety of government customers spanning technology domains, and is a fast-paced, responsive development environment delivering new capabilities to customers rapidly and affordably. The ESG portfolio consists of a range of platforms and technologies including the X-37B, the world's first fully autonomous reusable spaceplane. This position is 100% onsite at Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
Position Responsibilities:
At Boeing, our Product Review Engineers are leaders in innovation, development, evaluation, and implementation of methods and systems in support of complex manufacturing and refurbishment processes.
In this position, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Apply knowledge of Boeing design and/or engineering principles to assess and resolves product/process issues through the product lifecycle.
- Analyze, conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for design non-conformances. Develop interim or final engineering solutions to product/process issues identified throughout production and refurbishment of the products.
- Analyze, conduct failure analysis, root cause analysis and troubleshoot to understand root cause.
- Provide assistance and engineering support to identify solutions.
- Provide written dispositions for design non-conformances and damage sustained during operations.
- Support activities to identify deviations that could impact design intent and safety and product/process improvements
- Develop and implements product/process improvements.
- Design interim repairs and conducts required analysis. Develop non-destructive test procedures, tools and standards.
- Participate in Material Review Boards and support Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participate in design reviews. Represent the engineering community in the build through postproduction environment.
- Represent the engineering community in the factory through production build and postproduction environment.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).
(Candidate must be willing and able to obtain a Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI or agree to enter a Continuous Evaluation program)).
Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.
This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 5+ years of experience working in an engineering, manufacturing and/or production environment
- Experience in aerospace design or manufacturing.
- Ability to analyze and interpret product data (e.g. Engineering drawings, Part Lists, Supplier data, Wiring Diagrams and Schematics)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Currently MRB (Material Review Board) certified or have been in the past 2 years
- Experience with production systems such as Manufacturing Execution System (MESci), Teamcenter Product Data Management (PDM), Unigraphics (UG) and Visulization Mockup.
- Experience with 3D model based instructions (MBIs)
- Excellent cross-functional leadership, collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of aerospace Avionic/ Electrical systems
- Knowledge of approved repair and test techniques for Avionic/ Electrical components.
