The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Fighters Software Engineering Manager (Level K) to join the Software Organization located in Daytona Beach, FL. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
The ideal candidate will lead a team of mission systems software engineers developing real-time embedded software for a Fighters Platform in an agile, collaborative environment. Engineers on the team develop software that is responsible for the Fighters mission system capabilities.
The selected candidate will also be expected to demonstrate and promote successful collaboration and knowledge sharing between St. Louis and Daytona Beach to ensure successful execution from this new location.

Position Responsibilities:
- Develops and carries out project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
- Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and team members
- Provides guidance and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
- Hires, Manages, develops and motivates employees
- Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering
- Manage within the Scaled Agile Framework environment (SAFe)
- Coordinate across teams within the Agile Release Train (ART) and across other various ARTs on the Solution Train
- Manage and coordinate work across unclassified and collateral secret areas to ensure full solutions for the warfighter
- Fulfills Cost Account Manager (CAM) duties as appropriate for Earned Value Management (EVM) tracking
- Presents software status as needed to Boeing Program Management and Navy customers and supports the managing of program contracts
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start)
- Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership"
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 3 or more years of leadership experience
- Experience working on Mission Systems products
- Experience leading teams, ideally software teams
- Working knowledge of the Scale Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Experience with Earned Value Management
