The Site Manager will lead and manage all on-site activities for the wastewater treatment plant (WTP)  based in Questa, NM. The role is responsible for ensuring successful execution of construction, installation, and commissioning works in compliance with project specifications, timelines, budget, and quality standards. The Site Manager will act as the key interface between the project team, contractors, and client representatives while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.

The Site Manager is the senior on-site leader responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation and maintenance of the Questa Mine Wastewater Treatment Plant (WTP) and Water Collection System (WCS). This role leads the Site Management Team and oversees operations, maintenance, safety, environmental compliance, staffing, subcontractors, maintenance planning, and client interface activities

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all WTP operations and maintenance activities. 

  • Supervise site personnel, including operations, maintenance, laboratory, and HSE staff. 

  • Ensure compliance with national pollution discharge elimination system (NPDES) permit requirements, OM&M plans, site procedures, and regulatory obligations. 

  • Manage staffing, work planning, scheduling, and prioritization of site activities. 

  • Provide technical leadership to improve reliability, efficiency, and operational performance. 

  • Oversee spare parts inventories, procurement of materials, and maintenance planning activities. 

  • Coordinate subcontractors performing specialized maintenance and repair work. 

  • Utilize computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)-generated work orders and look-ahead schedules for preventive and predictive maintenance planning. 

  • Manage emergency repairs and coordinate with Chevron representatives regarding maintenance requirements. 

  • Oversee waste oil management, facility maintenance, and site infrastructure programs. 

  • Promote a strong safety culture and support continuous improvement initiatives

 

Qualifications

  • ·  10+ years of industrial operations or maintenance experience. 

  • · Experience managing water or wastewater treatment facilities, mining operations, industrial remediation facilities, or similar process plants. 

  • · Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams. 

  • ·  Familiarity with CMMS systems, environmental compliance, and contractor management.

  • At least 5 years of experience in a Site Manager or similar leadership role.
  • Proven experience in SWRO desalination or large-scale water treatment projects.
  • Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and construction practices.
  • Familiarity with international standards and codes (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).
  • Proficiency in project planning and management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP or NEBOSH (preferred).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
