  • Must be willing to work within a creative team structure for all projects
  • An understanding of the relationship between design, social media, and digital components in the content space
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communications, English, Digital Media, or related field preferred

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help to develop plans to consistently increase DBU’s presence in local and national media
  • Help respond to media inquiries in consultation with the Director of Marketing and Communications
  • Generate ideas for stories and content that will reflect the University’s mission in a variety of formats
  • Write news and information stories as directed by the Director of Marketing and Communications
  • Send press releases and stories to the local and national media as directed by the Director of Marketing and Communications
  • Send press releases and stories to denominational media as directed by the Director of Marketing and Communications
  • Provide written content for various marketing and information-related items for the University
  • Help to produce video content related to news stories
  • Oversee the management of the dbu.edu/news website and be responsible for the upload and maintenance of all stories
  • Produce and distribute the DBU News
  • Produce and distribute the University Hill eBlast
  • Help to produce and distribute other DBU eBlasts as needed
  • Help to maintain a brand tone and voice through all written content
  • Monitor DBU’s media presence through appropriate monitoring software, and provide consistent reports regarding DBU’s media reach
  • Collaborate with DBU Alumni to generate compelling stories
  • Work with the Institute for Global Engagement to build up engagement and content as needed
  • Oversee a team of student workers by delegating projects and content assignments
  • Serve as Managing Editor of The DBU Report and support the Director of Marketing and Communications throughout the production process
  • Other duties as assigned

WORK SCHEDULE:

This is a full-time position. 


WORK LOCATION:

This position will work on the main campus, located at 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211

Preferred Qualifications
  • Must be a Christian who is a member of a church that holds Jesus Christ to be their Savior and Lord, and who holds solely the Old Testament and the New Testament as sacred Scriptures.
