About the Role

Packsize is seeking a technical writer to create enterprise-grade support documentation for high-automation machinery. The technical writer will author user manuals, specifications, and other support materials related to hardware products. The technical writer must be able to work independently and have a strong ability to break down complex procedures into clear, easy-to-follow steps. This position requires demonstrated experience in developing complex procedural documentation and a deep understanding of content management best practices. Ideal candidates will have experience with knowledge base management and exposure to generative and agentic AI solution management. 

Up to 10% travel required. 

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with global engineering, product management, quality assurance, and other senior team members to create manuals and support documentation for high-automation machines 
• Author complex technical and administrative content that adheres to technical writing quality standards and meets compliance expectations 
• Work with a team of technical writers to manage a controlled document library and enforce document control processes
• Develop strategies and best practices for organization-wide information management of technical documentation, knowledge base content, and other technical resources 
• Contribute to governance and strategic deployment of generative and agentic AI solutions
• Independently execute process improvement initiatives of complex scope 
• Represent the interests and standards of the Technical Documentation team when collaborating with teams and leaders across the organization

• Ability to work on multiple projects at once and independently juggle competing priorities
• Ability to communicate with others honestly, respectfully, and sensitively
• Follow through on promises and commitments made to others
• Ability to understand the needs, objectives, and challenges of cross-functional teams
• Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, or related field preferred
• 4-6 years demonstrated experience in creating and managing technical documentation, preferably in a hardware manufacturing setting

What We Offer
The salary range for this role is $73,828- $90,439 USD; however, Packsize considers several factors when determining compensation when extending a job offer, including but not limited to, the role being offered, the associated responsibilities, the candidate's prior work experience, education/training, and any special skills.
