A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Copyedit all descriptions & scripts under tight deadline pressure
- Check graphics and videos to ensure they match scripts
- Communicate critical story information with producers and managers
- Think outside the box to tell a story
- Understand the importance of utilizing and writing to video
- Operate as a team player
- Conduct thorough research on top stories
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of skills and demonstrated experience.
- Strong and accurate writing, research, and editorial skills
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
- Thorough knowledge of current events, U.S. politics, geopolitics, foreign policy, and history
- Strong news judgment
- Ability to manage breaking news and respond quickly as stories develop
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced news environment
- Copyedit all descriptions & scripts under tight deadline pressure
- Check graphics and videos to ensure they match scripts
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as the news cycle demands

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $60,000.00-75,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
