Media Molecule – Writer – contract from June - December 2025
We are Media Molecule, a multi-award winning game developer and part of the wider PlayStation Studios group. We have a history of creating outstanding games such as LittleBigPlanet, Tearaway and most recently, the BAFTA Award winning Dreams. It’s a fantastic time to join us as we embark on our next adventure, defining and executing the vision for our next project and settling into our gorgeous, newly refurbished studio in central Guildford. We’re looking for a talented writer to join us on-site at our Guildford studio on a 6 month contract basis.
Key responsibilities;
- Adapt to fit the house-style of writing - write dialogues, scenes, menu text, and more
- Self-edit to produce well-worded, grammatically correct text
- Take direction from the lead narrative designer
- Iterate quickly based on feedback
- Keep documentation up-to-date
- Provide constructive, insightful feedback when asked
- Collaborate closely with inter-disciplinary teams to help support a responsive, caring work environment
Portfolio requirements:
As part of the application process, please include a portfolio of (up to) 20 pages, with samples that showcase your flexibility as a writer.
All modes of writing are accepted - poetry, prose, plays, scripts, essays, and everything in between. Please focus on providing variety in tone, style, and voice, so we can get a good feel for your versatility and range.
