Position Description: The Worship Leader will seek to engage people in meaningful worship that is Christ centered and biblically accurate. He/She will produce each worship service and any special services by overseeing and coordinating all the details that each service requires to create environments where people can encounter God and prepare to hear His word proclaimed. The Worship Leader will create a plan to shepard and develop those in Austin Ridge Worship ministry.
Responsibilities:
- Build, encourage, and oversee the necessary core teams to carry out the vision of the worship ministry (i.e. Worship Team, Tech Team, & Hospitality Team)
- Lead and oversee the directors for each core team
- Develop and maintain budget for worship ministry
- Plan the corporate worship services with direction from campus pastor and do so with prayer, conceptual forethought, theological accuracy, and musical appropriateness
- Ensure that all the musical and technical aspects of the service advance the theme and vision
- Oversee song selection, media preparation and presentation, sound and lighting production, and coordination of all instrumentalists and vocalists
- Lead worship in 44 services per year
- Direct all weekly activities and rehearsals necessary to facilitate worship in weekly services
- Provide pastoral care for the volunteers and leaders of the core teams (i.e. worship team, choir, tech team, creative team, and hospitality team)
- Help develop future worship leaders
- Organize and conduct ministry team meetings with the directors of the core teams (i.e. Worship team, Choir, Tech team, Creative Team, and Hospitality team)
- Introduce all core teams to worship/production training provided by other ministries, books, and conferences
- Plan 2-3 major seasonal (Christmas/Easter) services per year. Services must be creative, worshipful celebrations that exalt Christ.
- Build contacts and relationships with local musicians, studios, and musical organizations for both evangelistic and staffing purposes
- Set and evaluate quarterly/annual goals for the worship ministry that are in line with church vision
- Be involved in Pastoral duties as determined by Campus Pastor
Qualifications:
- have a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing personal relationship with Him
- meet the qualifications for an elder found in I Timothy and Titus.
- live out the core values of ARBC and agree with Doctrinal statement
- be a visionary who is creative in leading people to God
- be a leader who can communicate a direction in a way that inspires those to join in the pursuit of that vision
- be a pastor who serves, not solely as a musical or performing arts director, but also as a shepherd to the people who serve in this ministry
- be evangelistic
- be humble, teachable, and relational
Abilities
- musically and vocally qualified
- a pastoral heart for the spiritual formation of those in the congregation and the worship ministry
- relational skills and an enthusiastic presence for leading large groups in worship
- skilled in choral, vocal, and instrumental direction
- skilled in organization, administration, and interpersonal relationships
- skilled in the use of technology in worship and in the use of sound, lighting, computers, ProPresenter, and video projection
- ability to incorporate other art forms as needed
- a self-starter
- a team player with a positive attitude
