Job Responsibilities:
The World Class Manufacturing Intern will support the MAFACT team in implementing and sustaining lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational excellence within the plant. This internship provides hands-on experience in process improvement, data analysis, safety, and standardization, contributing to the achievement of world-class manufacturing benchmarks. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams, assist in project execution, and gain valuable industry knowledge in a manufacturing environment.
Intern timeline: 3-6 Months
Pay: $20.34 - $25.05 an hour - Depends on grade level
Responsibilities:
Supports Magna Operational Principles and Employee Charter criteria within context and position's scope of work supports EBM's ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, IATF System, as well as Magna Safety and Magna Environmental Program requirements
- Assist in identifying waste reduction opportunities, process improvements, and standardization initiatives aligned with MAFACT and WCM principles.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret manufacturing data, including time studies, process flow, and quality metrics, to support problem-solving and decision-making.
- Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining standard work procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Promote a safe work environment by adhering to safety policies, participating in safety audits, and supporting 5S initiatives for workplace organization.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams to support project timelines, layout reviews, and process validations.
- Participate in training sessions on lean manufacturing, problem-solving techniques (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen), and other relevant methodologies.
- Prepare reports, charts, and presentations to communicate project progress, findings, and recommendations to team members and management.
Qualifications:
- Strong interest in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Skills:
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to a fast-paced setting.

Education:
