Job Responsibilities:
This internship offers an excellent opportunity for a Supply Chain Management major to gain hands-on experience in logistics, material flow, and supply chain processes within a manufacturing environment. The intern will support ongoing projects related to inventory management, transportation, and process improvement, contributing to the efficient and cost-effective movement of materials.
Intern timeline: 3-6 Months
Pay: $20.34 - $25.05 an hour - Depends on grade level
Responsibilities:
Supports Magna Operational Principles and Employee Charter criteria within context and position's scope of work supports EBM's ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, IATF System, as well as Magna Safety and Magna Environmental Program requirements
  • Assist in analyzing and optimizing material flow and logistics processes to support Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing and delivery schedules.
  • Support the coordination of inbound and outbound shipments, including scheduling, tracking, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components.
  • Participate in inventory control activities such as cycle counts, physical inventories, and data reconciliation to maintain accuracy.
  • Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Support the preparation of reports and data analysis related to transportation performance, delivery metrics, and inventory levels.
  • Help monitor supplier delivery performance and escalate issues as needed to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules.
  • Contribute to safety and compliance initiatives, including adherence to SH&E policies and procedures.
  • Support cross-functional communication between production, shipping, receiving, and procurement teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental goals and projects.

Qualifications:
  • Strong interest in logistics, supply chain processes, and manufacturing operations.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management, transportation, and material flow concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Prior internship or related experience in logistics or supply chain management is a plus but not required.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.

Skills:
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Education:
  • Recently graduated or currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field
