The opportunity

We are looking for a Workshop Manager to join our team in the Manawatu. In this role you will oversee a team of mechanics carrying out programmed maintenance, breakdown repairs and forward planned jobs on our diverse fleet of plant and equipment.

In addition to the above you will:

• Co-ordination of resources to safely and efficiently complete planned work and breakdowns

• Provide technical support and advice to mechanics and apprentices

• Overseeing quality of repairs on the workshop floor and the timely reaction to call outs

• Ensuring the safe certs are maintained to company minimum standards

• Use of the Plant Asset Management (PAMs) systems for generating works orders and billing

• Ensuring our high health and safety standards are met by your team

• Delivering quality service to all internal and external customers

We’re looking for someone with

• Minimum full class 2 licence, class 5 is desirable

• Mechanic Trade Qualification or equivalent experience is preferable, but not essential

• Minimum 4 - 5 years’ experience in medium to heavy machinery / plant maintenance (or similar) industry

• Preferably experience with MAXIMO or equivalent plant maintenance suite

• Accurate work habits with a high level of attention to detail

• Computer literate – using Microsoft suite effectively

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of people

• Customer focused with excellent problem solving skills

• Strong planning ability, able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work
