The opportunity
We are looking for a Workshop Manager to join our team in the Manawatu. In this role you will oversee a team of mechanics carrying out programmed maintenance, breakdown repairs and forward planned jobs on our diverse fleet of plant and equipment.
In addition to the above you will:

Co-ordination of resources to safely and efficiently complete planned work and breakdowns

Provide technical support and advice to mechanics and apprentices

Overseeing quality of repairs on the workshop floor and the timely reaction to call outs

Ensuring the safe certs are maintained to company minimum standards

Use of the Plant Asset Management (PAMs) systems for generating works orders and billing

Ensuring our high health and safety standards are met by your team

Delivering quality service to all internal and external customers

We’re looking for someone with
-
Minimum full class 2 licence, class 5 is desirable
-
Mechanic Trade Qualification or equivalent experience is preferable, but not essential
-
Minimum 4 - 5 years’ experience in medium to heavy machinery / plant maintenance (or similar) industry
-
Preferably experience with MAXIMO or equivalent plant maintenance suite
-
Accurate work habits with a high level of attention to detail

Computer literate – using Microsoft suite effectively
-
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of people

Customer focused with excellent problem solving skills
-
Strong planning ability, able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work
