GCU UK Ltd is looking for a focused and organised Works Coordinator to join our team. Based in Bellshill with responsibility for coordinating works across Devon, this is a key role supporting the successful delivery of fast-paced telecoms and civils projects.
As a Works Coordinator, you will play a vital part in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
What we expect of you
In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and monitoring daily activities to ensure projects are delivered in line with programme deadlines, client expectations and compliance requirements. You will work closely with Supervisors and the Operations team to programme works effectively, manage scheduling and maintain smooth project delivery across multiple workstreams.
You will take ownership of managing work packs, ensuring they are reviewed, accurate and ready for delivery, as well as completing desktop surveys to identify risks or discrepancies before work begins. Maintaining control of programme performance will be key, ensuring all works stay on track and are completed within agreed timeframes.
A key part of the role will involve liaising with clients, handling noticing and permitting requirements, and ensuring all activities comply with relevant regulations and contractual obligations. You will also be responsible for ensuring completed works are fully documented and submitted in line with compliance standards.
What you will bring
Ideally, you will have experience within telecoms or utilities coordination, with a particular advantage given to those who have worked on telecoms build projects such as Openreach programmes, including A55 and DFE works. Familiarity with AFS systems, especially from a contractor or subcontractor background, would also be beneficial.
You will have a strong understanding of working within fast-paced telecoms project environments, with proven experience managing deadlines, priorities and reporting requirements effectively. You will be highly organised, with the ability to plan workloads and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
A positive communicator, you will be comfortable working with demanding clients and internal stakeholders, demonstrating commercial awareness and the ability to make sound decisions that support project success. You will have solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and other tools used for planning and reporting.
