Working Student – Azure Power BI Reporting Support

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented working student to support our data reporting and analytics initiatives using Microsoft Azure and Power BI. This role is ideal for a student with a foundational understanding of data engineering and visualization who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, real-world environment. You will work closely with our reporting and analytics team to help build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and dashboards that drive business insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.
Support the creation and monitoring of data pipelines using Azure Synapse or Microsoft Fabric.
Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) tasks using SQL, Python & REST APIs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Conduct data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of reports.
Document processes, data models, and reporting logic for internal knowledge sharing.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Basic knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating data.
Basic programming skills in Python, especially for data processing tasks. Experience with Pandas & NumPy is a plus.
Familiarity with Power BI for creating interactive dashboards and visualizations.
Exposure to Azure Synapse Analytics or Microsoft Fabric for building data pipelines is a strong plus.
Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail is important.
Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Proficiency in English; German, French or Spanish is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with version control tools like GitHub and/or Azure CI/CD.
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving project requirements, showcasing a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Understanding of data modeling concepts (e.g., star schema, normalization).
Interest in cloud technologies and data engineering best practices.
