Compensation Range:

$82,387.00 - $110,722.00Check out our work perks here!

Job Description:

Purpose of Job: Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by strengthening the employee experience through dignified and compliant Workforce Development practices that support staff retention and organizational excellence as follows:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides expert employee relations support by coaching leaders on performance management, conflict resolution, corrective action, documentation, and effective feedback practices.

  • Conducts and oversees employee relations investigations, ensuring timely, thorough, and compliant resolution with consistent application of policies.

  • Identifies trends, patterns, and root causes of ER and workplace culture issues and partners with leaders to implement preventative strategies that improve team dynamics and reduce organizational risk.

  • Advises on and supports policy development and compliance, ensuring alignment with employment law and organizational needs, and escalating risks as necessary.

  • Builds strong partnerships with leaders, serving as a trusted advisor on organizational structure, team effectiveness, and change readiness.

  • Supports organizational change initiatives, ensuring people‑related impacts are addressed and employees receive clear communication and guidance.

  • Collaborates cross‑functionally to resolve workforce issues, ensure consistent HR process execution, and coordinate responses to emerging organizational needs.

  • Leads employee experience and retention efforts by analyzing turnover data, identifying risk factors early, and advising leaders on practices that improve engagement, communication, and belonging.

  • Contributes to retention‑focused initiatives, such as system improvements, stay interviews, and department action plans.

  • Maintains high confidentiality, judgment, and discretion in all employee relations and personnel matters.

  • Performs other duties assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, organizational development, or related field, or equivalent experience. Three years of experience in HR, with strong emphasis on employee relations required. Experience advising leaders on performance management and policy interpretation required. Experience conducting ER investigations preferred.

Skills: Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and their practical application required. Demonstrated ability to conduct objective, thorough investigations and handle sensitive issues with discretion required. Skilled in coaching leaders through difficult conversations, performance concerns, and conflict resolution required. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport across levels and functions required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation, required. Ability to manage multiple priorities with sound judgment and minimal oversight required.  Valid driver’s license and insurance required. Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment required.

Physical Demands:

Must talk, hear, and sit more than two-thirds of the day. Using hands occurs over two-thirds of the day, while reaching with arms occurs less than one-third of the day. Communicating is required over two-thirds of the day, while climbing, stooping, or crawling is minimal.  Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
