Job Summary:
UCT is seeking an experienced and hands-on Workforce Data Analyst to own the development and delivery of global workforce dashboards, reporting solutions, and people insights. This role brings together and analyzes data from HR, Finance, IT, recruiting, payroll, employee engagement platforms, and other internal and third-party sources to create a connected view of UCT's workforce, identify meaningful trends, and support informed business decisions.
Operating as a seasoned individual contributor, the Workforce Data Analyst independently manages complex reporting and analytical deliverables, partners with HR, business, and IT stakeholders, and translates business questions into clear metrics, visualizations, and actionable insights. The ideal candidate combines strong technical capability with analytical judgment, business acumen, and effective communication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Dashboard & Reporting Product Ownership:
- Own the design, development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of global workforce dashboards, scorecards, and recurring reporting products.
- Translate business requirements into scalable metrics, visualizations, drill-downs, and self-service reporting solutions for HR, business, and executive stakeholders.
- Balance recurring reporting with complex ad hoc analysis and automate manual reporting processes wherever practical.
- Maintain clear documentation for dashboards, metric definitions, calculation logic, refresh schedules, and reporting processes.
Workforce Analytics & Insights:
- Analyze workforce data across hiring, onboarding, engagement, performance, mobility, retention, workforce costs, and organizational health.
- Use cohort, segmentation, trend, and variance analysis to identify patterns, meaningful differences, and potential drivers across the employee lifecycle.
- Connect information across multiple data sets and translate complex findings into clear workforce narratives, practical insights, and areas for further action.
- Prepare executive-ready dashboards, presentations, and analyses that support workforce planning, organizational reviews, and strategic HR initiatives.
Analytics Data Management, Quality & Governance:
- Combine and reconcile data from UKG Pro, Finance, IT, recruiting, payroll, benefits, engagement, performance, learning, and other relevant internal and external sources.
- Develop reusable analytical data sets and data models that improve consistency and connect information across the employee lifecycle.
- Establish and maintain workforce metric definitions, validation controls, documentation, and data lineage so reporting is accurate, explainable, and trusted.
- Apply appropriate privacy, confidentiality, role-based access, and small-population protections when working with sensitive employee data.
Partnership & Continuous Improvement:
- Partner with HRIS, IT, Finance, Payroll, Benefits, HR Centers of Excellence, and business stakeholders to understand data structures, business processes, and decision needs.
- Serve as a subject-matter resource for workforce reporting and analytics, guiding stakeholders on metric interpretation, data limitations, and effective use of dashboards.
- Lead complex reporting initiatives and participate in testing system enhancements, upgrades, and new functionality affecting reporting and analytics.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of people analytics, workforce metrics, HR processes, HR technology ecosystems, and the employee lifecycle.
- Ability to connect disparate data sets, recognize patterns, and translate analysis into a clear business story.
- Experience with SQL or comparable data-query skills, including experience preparing, transforming, and modeling data.
- Proficiency with business intelligence and visualization tools such as UKG People Analytics (Cognos BI), Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Power Query, formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical judgment, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and attention to data quality.
- Strong consulting, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to convey insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to independently manage complex priorities, collaborate across functions and geographies, and handle confidential employee information with discretion.
Educational/Certification Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience Requirement:
- 7+ years of experience in workforce analytics, people analytics, HR reporting, dashboard development, business intelligence, or a related analytical role.
- Demonstrated experience independently managing complex reporting, dashboard, or analytics deliverables.
- Experience combining, reconciling, and analyzing data from multiple business systems to identify trends and deliver meaningful workforce insights.
- Experience developing dashboards, analytical data models, visualizations, and executive reporting solutions.
- Experience partnering with HR, HRIS, Finance, IT, business leaders, and other cross-functional stakeholders in a global organization.
- Experience with UKG Pro and UKG People Analytics (Cognos BI) is preferred.
