Job DescriptionAbout the Role
As a Workday Testing Coordinator, you will bridge the gap between technical system configuration and end-to-end business process integrity across global People Technology initiatives. Sitting within the People Tech team, you will act as the core quality coordinator responsible for ensuring complex, high-sensitivity platform rollouts execute flawlessly without disrupting core HR workflows.
Because People Tech changes are often bundled into broader People Team projects that impact employee experience, rollouts cannot always happen incrementally or iteratively. In this role, you will define end-to-end testing strategy, establish test script frameworks, and govern entry/exit criteria across project phases. You are not a process owner nor responsible for executing all test scripts yourself; instead, you will enable, organize, and guide People Team project resources who perform the validation across our People Tech stack (tools such as Workday, SmartRecruiters and Absorb).
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
E2E Test Scope Definition: Map out comprehensive end-to-end test scope covering user outcomes, HR business processes, and system configurations across multi-application People Tech projects.
Framework & Script Standardization: Establish standardized test script templates, quality benchmarks, and testing guidelines for People Team testers to execute reliably.
Phase Governance: Define, monitor, and enforce strict entry and exit criteria for major project testing phases prior to production deployment.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate testing schedules, resource alignment, and execution progress with People Team business process owners.
Defect Management & Triage: Lead defect tracking in Jira, facilitate triage sessions between People Team testers and People Tech engineers, and ensure root causes are addressed.
Mentorship & Quality Standards: Coach L1/L2 technicians on testing practices and maintain comprehensive test repositories and runbooks in Confluence.
What We’re Looking For (Must-Have)
Test Coordination Expertise: Proven background in QA coordination or technical test leading, specifically defining test scope, entry/exit gates, and script frameworks for large enterprise projects.
People Platform Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of HRIS/ATS application workflows and sensitive HR business processes (specifically Workday, SmartRecruiters, Absorb, or Visier).
Leadership Scope: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional IT/People initiatives, manage project quality risks, and coach junior team members.
Orchestration Skills: Experience guiding non-technical stakeholders through structured testing execution while managing defect lifecycles.
Tooling Proficiency: Deep hands-on experience managing testing workflows via Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.
Nice to Have
Exposure to automated testing frameworks, API testing, or workflow automation tools (e.g. Workato).
QA certifications (e.g. ISTQB) or technical certifications in Workday or related enterprise HR software.
For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.
We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences.
Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.
