Join Us in Redefining Care

At Advocate Health, we’re committed to helping people live well by delivering exceptional care with compassion, innovation, and expertise. We’re seeking a Systems Analyst Senior – Workday to join our People & Culture Digital Capabilities team and help advance scalable, reliable, and teammate-centered HR technology solutions.

As a valued member of our team, you’ll play a key role in supporting and optimizing Workday modules that enable critical workforce processes across the enterprise. This role partners closely with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to translate needs into sustainable system solutions that support operational excellence, governance, and an improved teammate experience.

About This Opportunity

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Workday or HRIS professional who enjoys solving complex system challenges, improving HR processes, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver thoughtful, scalable solutions. The Systems Analyst Senior independently supports the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of assigned Workday modules while leading moderately complex initiatives with minimal oversight.

The role will support process design, system reliability, security, reporting, data integrity, and emerging digital capabilities — including AI-enabled solutions — to help strengthen workforce operations and enterprise scalability.

What You’ll Do
  • Independently support and lead configuration, maintenance, and optimization of assigned Workday modules.
  • Partner with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable system configurations.
  • Align solutions with governance standards, enterprise best practices, security expectations, and architectural requirements.
  • Lead moderately complex cross-functional initiatives from requirements gathering through delivery, testing, and implementation.
  • Serve as a technical resource to HR and business partners, helping balance stakeholder needs with system standards and governance.
  • Support process design and system reliability to ensure a consistent and effective teammate experience.
  • Configure and optimize Workday business processes, security, eligibility rules, notifications, reporting, and integrations.
  • Evaluate and apply digital capabilities across varied HR systems and workforce domains.
  • Assess AI-enabled and digital solutions for readiness, data integrity, integration capability, operational viability, and long-term sustainability.
  • Support release management, testing standards, data audits, and ongoing system improvements.
  • Ensure workforce data is accurate, consistent, appropriately governed, and aligned with privacy and confidentiality standards.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of Workday or HRIS experience.
  • Hands-on Workday configuration experience across one or more Workday modules.
  • Experience with Workday Business Process Framework, security, eligibility rules, notifications, and workflow optimization.
  • Advanced Workday reporting knowledge, including calculated fields, dashboards, and data analysis.
  • Foundational understanding of integrations, EIBs, data audits, and system impacts.
  • Understanding of Workday release management, testing standards, and system governance best practices.
  • Ability to translate stakeholder needs into practical system designs while explaining trade-offs, constraints, and implications.
  • Strong understanding of employee lifecycle processes, including hire, movement, compensation, absence, and separation.
  • Ability to design solutions that support usability, adoption, teammate experience, and operational feasibility.
  • Strong communication, consultation, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Awareness of emerging technologies and how they can support HR systems, workforce operations, and enterprise scalability.
Preferred
  • Workday Pro Certification or progress toward certification.
  • Experience supporting multiple Workday modules, such as Core HCM, Compensation, Absence, Talent, Recruiting, Learning, Payroll, or Security.
  • Experience with Workday integrations, EIBs, advanced reporting, dashboards, and data governance.
  • Experience supporting HR technology in a large, complex, or enterprise environment.
  • Familiarity with digital transformation, AI-enabled solutions, process improvement, and workforce data stewardship.
  • Experience partnering with HR, IT, and cross-functional business stakeholders on system enhancements or enterprise initiatives.
