Job Summary
The Workday Functional Consultant supports the continued optimization of our Workday platform and HR business processes. This role serves as a strategic liaison between Human Resources, business stakeholders, and technical teams, leveraging Workday expertise to assess business needs, evaluate solution options, and provide recommendations that improve operational effectiveness. The role will facilitate requirements gathering, business process analysis, testing, reporting while partnering with HRIS developers and technical resources to implement approved solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with HR Centers of Excellence and business stakeholders to understand business needs, evaluate current processes, and identify opportunities for improvement through Workday solutions.
- Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and reporting requirements; develop business cases and solution recommendations that align with organizational objectives and Workday best practices.
- Attend stakeholder meetings and discovery sessions to define requirements, evaluate options, and gain alignment on proposed solutions and process changes.
- Serve as a Workday subject matter expert by researching system capabilities, assessing impacts, and presenting recommendations, risks, and alternatives to business leaders and project teams.
- Collaborate with HRIS developers, technical resources, and vendors to translate business requirements into functional specifications and support the successful delivery of approved solutions.
- Coordinate and support testing activities, including test planning, test script creation, user acceptance testing, defect tracking, and validation of system enhancements.
- Stay informed of Workday releases, new functionality, and industry best practices, providing guidance on opportunities to enhance system utilization, employee experience, and operational efficiency.

- Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
- Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance training.
- Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:
- Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum experience required: 4+ Years of HRIS, HR Technology, or Business Systems experience.
- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and facilitating stakeholder discussions.
- Experience supporting testing activities, including UAT planning and execution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of Workday functional experience supporting Human Capital Management business processes.
- Experience supporting one or more Workday functional areas, including Core HCM, Recruiting, Talent, Learning, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, or Absence.
- Experience participating in Workday implementations, optimization projects, or major enhancements.
- Workday certifications or Workday training coursework preferred.

Pay Range
