About the Position

The Workday Financials Functional Consultant focuses on the configuration and optimization of our Workday Financial Management modules. The role will bridge the gap between business requirements from our Finance and Accounting teams and the technical capabilities of the Workday system.

Functions                                                                                               

  • Perform hands-on configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday Financials modules, such as General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets, and Expenses.
  • Lead requirement gathering sessions with Finance stakeholders, translating complex business processes into efficient Workday configuration designs.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize and standardize global financial processes within Workday, ensuring alignment with corporate policy and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop detailed test scripts, execute functional testing (Unit, System, and UAT support), and provide timely post-implementation support and troubleshooting for production issues.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including functional design specifications, test results, and end-user training materials.
  • Monitor and validate financial master data and configuration-related data loads, supporting internal controls, SOX compliance activities and audit readiness.
  • Review new Workday releases, assess feature impacts, conduct regression testing, and recommend adoption of new functionality that improves financial processes.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems or related field required.
  • Current Workday Pro Certification in a Financials module (e.g., Financial Accounting, Spend Management).
  • 4-6 years of hands-on experience as a Workday Functional Consultant or Senior Analyst with a focus on Financial Management required.
  • Deep understanding and proven configuration experience in at least two of the following Workday Financials modules: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Expenses or Fixed Assets.
  • Participation in at least one full cycle Workday Financials implementation, from planning through go-live and post-production support.
  • Experience with Workday Prism Analytics or Financial reporting tools preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Travel Requirements

  • This position is expected to travel approximately 25% or less.
