Position Summary

General Atlantic is looking to hire a Senior Associate, Workday Finance Configuration Lead in our New York Office. This role will be responsible for designing, configuring, implementing, and supporting the firm’s Workday Financials platform, with a primary focus on management company accounting, financial data model management, accounts payable automation, supplier invoice and data management, financial allocations, and consolidations.

In this hands-on role, the Lead will drive the technical configuration and functional design of Workday Financials while partnering closely with Finance leadership and operational teams to build scalable and efficient financial processes. The role requires expertise in Workday Financials configuration, Accounting Center, PRISM analytics, reporting, and financial data architecture, combined with strong functional knowledge of accounting operations.

Our current Workday footprint includes Workday’s Core Financials modules, PRISM Analytics, and Extend. This role will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including our Finance, Accounting, Tax, IT, Product Management, Infrastructure/Security, and interfacing application teams.

Responsibilities 

  • Lead end-to-end finance configuration design and delivery across Workday Financials, including technical design, configuration, validation, and deployment across modules supporting general ledger, supplier accounts, expense processing, allocations, and financial consolidations
  • Design and configure management company accounting structures, including chart of accounts design, ledger structures, and reporting hierarchies
  • Configure and optimize supplier management and financial processing workflows, including supplier onboarding, invoice processing, approvals, and payment integrations
  • Develop and manage allocation frameworks and consolidation processes to support multi-entity financial reporting and internal cost allocations
  • Leverage Workday Accounting Center to integrate, transform, and map external financial data into Workday’s accounting structures
  • Utilize Workday PRISM Analytics to ingest, model, and analyze financial datasets for enhanced reporting, operational insights, and financial transparency
  • While participating as a hands-on configuration lead, manage a team of employees and consultants responsible for supporting Finance and enhancing the technology enabling their business objectives
  • Establish and oversee governance processes for finance-related system development, including prioritization, testing protocols, release management, and operational support models
  • Partner with Finance leadership to design scalable financial processes and reporting frameworks that support evolving business needs
  • Prepare for and lead activities around Workday releases, including impact analysis, regression testing, and adoption of new Financials features
  • Build, test, and deploy business processes, calculated fields, condition rules, and financial data transformations supporting financial operations
  • Lead the team to develop financial reports, dashboards, and discovery boards enabling senior leadership and stakeholders to access actionable financial insights
  • Manage the Workday Finance support team to expand capabilities and continuously improve the firm’s Workday Financials platform

Qualifications 

  • Strong understanding of the Workday Financials data model and business processes, including General Ledger, Supplier Accounts, Expenses, Financial Reporting, and Security
  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday Financials configuration experience, including calculated fields, financial reporting, and business process frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience implementing or supporting financial allocations, consolidations, and multi-entity accounting structures
  • Experience with Workday Accounting Center for financial data ingestion, mapping, and accounting rule configuration
  • Experience leveraging Workday PRISM Analytics for financial data modeling and advanced reporting
  • 3+ years of experience managing consultants, preferably with offshore resources
  • Strong functional understanding of corporate accounting processes and financial operations
  • Prior experience working in a global operating environment
  • Workday Pro certification or experience with a certified Workday Financials partner
  • Experience implementing or operating Workday Financials in complex multi-entity environments
  • Consulting or transformation experience supporting financial systems implementations
  • Experience integrating Workday with external accounting, treasury, or data platforms

This role requires occasional availability outside of traditional working hours to address urgent business needs as they arise, including but not limited to supporting software deployments, resolving system issues, or addressing other critical operational requirements

General Atlantic offers a robust reward program to all employees that will support you and your family, maintaining fulfilling, secure and healthy lives now and into the future, which includes but is not limited to medical insurance, retirement savings contributions, mental and physical health resources and an equal pay program that allows you to earn a base salary of $140,000 – $190,000 of which the exact amount offered will be driven by the degree to which you meet role requirements, additional special skills and experience.  Additional reward programs, such as annual discretionary bonuses and long-term incentive programs, are available for eligible employees and are offered as recognition for performance and one’s contributions towards the organization’s success.
